Preventive Dentistry Treatments for Lifelong Oral Health
We encourage all our patients to have regular check-ups so that any early signs of tooth decay or gum disease are recognized and treated before they seriously undermine your health. The recall interval is determined by the health of your teeth and gums. As diagnosed in the first visit, you might be at mild, moderate or increased risk of dental or gum disease. Accordingly, we determine your recall visit. Usually, most people will require 6 monthly check-ups but if you are at a higher risk of dental or gum disease, you might be advised to return sooner (in 3 months).
Fissure Sealants
These are special plastic protective coatings which are applied on the chewing surfaces of teeth with deep fissures. This forms a hard shield that keeps food and bacteria away and thus reducing the risk of developing decay.
Fluoride Varnish
The professional application of concentrated fluoride varnish is very beneficial to reverse early decay so that fillings may not be needed. This is done at your recall visit to certain areas which we have planned to monitor.
Night Guards
A large number of people clench or grind their teeth. If you do so, you may or may not be aware of it. Most people do it subconsciously in their sleep. This habit can cause unexplained sensitivity, phantom pains, fracture and heavy wear of the teeth. We can prevent the damage caused by this habit by constructing a custom-made night-guard for your teeth.
Home Care Products
A wide range of home care products such as fluoride tooth pastes, mouth washes, interdental brushes and flossing systems should be used for regular and routine oral hygiene maintainance.
