Infection Control at Pearl Dent Dental Care
Your safety is our top priority. At Pearldent Dental Care, we follow strict sterilization and disinfection protocols that meet international standards of asepsis. Every instrument, surface, and treatment area is prepared with the highest level of care to ensure a safe, hygienic environment for our patients and staff.
Operatory Asepsis
- At the start of each day, our clinic floors are scrubbed with disinfectants to keep the space clean and fresh.
- Surfaces and dental chairs are sanitized with antiseptic solutions, and this process is repeated after every patient to prevent cross-infection.
- High-power vacuum cleaning removes dust and airborne particles, reducing the risk of airborne infections.
Use of Disposable Materials
- A new pair of gloves, masks, suction tips, and cups is used for every patient.
- Local anesthetics are always administered from sealed syringes that are opened in front of you and disposed of immediately after use.
- During tooth whitening, both dentists and patients wear protective “blue blocker” glasses to ensure eye safety.
- Frequently touched dental unit surfaces are covered with food-grade cling film, replaced between patients.
- Our clinic uses oil-free compressors, ensuring no oil contamination in your oral cavity.
- Digital x-ray sensors and intraoral cameras are protected with single-use disposable covers.
Safe Water Systems
Each dental unit has a self-contained sterile water system. This means:
- Any water used in your mouth during treatment is sterile.
- Units are flushed between patients and cleaned regularly to reduce biofilm formation.
- Bottled sterile water is used for rinsing during procedures.
Instrument Sterilization
- Instruments are first washed in antiseptic solutions and cleaned thoroughly.
- They are immersed in 5% Korsolex solution for 45 minutes for standard disinfection.
- Next, they are processed in a digital ultrasonic cleaner to remove debris.
- Instruments are then sealed in sterile pouches to prevent contamination.
- Finally, they are sterilized in an autoclave at 121°C, the same standard used in operation theatres worldwide.
- Each pouch remains sealed until it is opened for your treatment.
